Art to me is a way to express myself, to color outside of the lines. I have never been able to express myself, growing up in the suburbs with average people has made me realize, I don’t want to live an average, I DON’T WANT TO BE AVERAGE. I will be successful if I look back on my life on my death bed & know I lived the most strange life & in some way offended others with my art & made others think about how average they are & inspire them to not be average. My favorite artist is Banksy, his style of art & his cynical attitude reminds me a lot of myself in many ways. I’m a strange shade of black, if you will, my artwork reflects this with the darkness of colors and the sad & almost empty feeling of my photographs. I’m an avid Nirvana listener & Kurt Cobain advocate, his music is art to me, which is why Kurt is another one of my favorite artists. He once said “I’d rather be hated for who I am instead of loved for who I am not.” So if others don’t like my art so what My art reflects who I am, a careless teenager who listens to rock music way to loud & takes way too many artsy selfies. I just want others to know in no way do I really care what they think of my art, it makes me happy & that’s how I feel, and sometimes I don’t care what others feel so I don’t really care if they like how I feel. If you don’t like it, don’t look.
